Cookie policy
This policy explains which cookies and similar browser storage the sentinelpriv.com website uses, and why.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Local storage is a similar browser feature that lets a site keep data between visits. This policy covers both.
2. Cookies and storage we set
We don’t use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. We set only what the site needs to work:
- sentinel_session (cookie): keeps you signed in. It lasts 24 hours, or 30 days if you tick “Remember me for 30 days”. Scripts on the page can’t read it, and it isn’t sent with requests from other websites. It’s only set when you sign in.
- sentinel_device (cookie): a random ID for your browser, set when you sign in, so we know when your account is used from a new browser and can stop account sharing. It lasts 400 days. Scripts on the page can’t read it. If you delete it, the next sign-in counts as a new browser.
- sentinel_live_tournaments (local storage): the tournament dashboard keeps your tournament list here, including team names, PINs and player names, so it survives a reload. It stays until you clear your browser data.
Because these are strictly necessary for features you ask for, they don’t need your consent.
3. Third-party cookies
- YouTube (Google): our home page and download page embed YouTube videos in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). The player loads with the page, and YouTube may store data in your browser and receives your IP address and browser details. See Google’s cookie policy.
- Stripe: checkout runs on Stripe’s own website and uses Stripe’s cookies. See Stripe’s cookie policy.
4. Controlling cookies
You can block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings. If you block sentinel_session you won’t be able to stay signed in, and if you clear local storage the tournament dashboard will forget your tournament list.
